Gun Review | TISAS PX-9 Duty
The TISAS PX-9 Duty is a striker-fired, full-size 9mm pistol designed around one core principle: fit. Built in Turkey and imported by SDS Imports, the PX-9 Duty offers extensive grip customization through interchangeable backstraps and side panels, allowing shooters to tailor the frame to their hand size and shooting style—an advantage rarely seen at its price point.
On the range, the pistol demonstrated excellent controllability thanks to features like an undercut trigger guard, high grip relief, and well-balanced ergonomics that reduced muzzle flip to a soft rearward push. Accuracy testing at 15 yards produced consistent five-shot groups, while dynamic drills showed fast target acquisition and reliable recovery during rapid fire. The flat-faced striker trigger broke at approximately 4.5 pounds and proved consistent, though its longer reset may divide shooter preference.
Reliability was flawless throughout more than 150 rounds of mixed ammunition, with no failures to feed, fire, or eject. The PX-9 Duty also impressed with practical features including a factory optics cut, fiber-optic sights, 20+1 capacity, Picatinny rail, threaded barrel option, and even an included configurable IWB/OWB holster.
For new shooters, budget-conscious buyers, or anyone seeking a high-capacity, optics-ready duty pistol with excellent ergonomics, the TISAS PX-9 Duty delivers strong performance, thoughtful design, and exceptional value in a crowded striker-fired market.
